Inclusion of children and youths in City planning. How we have used the annual happening” Children’s City” to bring forward children’s opinions to real and ongoing city planning issues. In 2008, the Children’s City arrangement focused on children’s demands for the future development of a large city centre open space (at that time a parking place). Based on the inputs from numerous workshops amongst children and youths, we then made a real size Pop Up park, where the parking space was covered with gras, furnished with playing equipment, benches and flowers. This input was a vital starting point for the transformation of a grey and challenging city space. In 2021 we opened our new city park – where the children’s perspectives from 2008 was fully included.
