Smart City solution

Welcome to the biggest ever Tampere stand at the Nordic Pavilion!

We have so much Smart Tampere stuff going on we had to take three times the space compared to last year. At the stand you can meet eight companies, three EU projects and several people from other smart activities ready to tell you all about our innovative solutions.

Just to highlight a few, at the stand we will demonstrate how you can analyze passers-by with real-time, learning imaging technology, we will show you our city IoT dashboards and test our city guidance services with your willing help.

We’d also love to tell you about our city platforms (5G ready network, future sustainable city district, lamp posts with sensor and app integrations, 3D city model, our future tram and so on) and other development projects. If this is something your company is interested in, just head our way!

As a treat for you, we will be promoting The Smart City Cookbook that was published at the Tampere Smart City Week in October. But why wait, you can download it right now for free at!

Come meet the Smart Tampere crew at the Tampere stand in the Nordic Pavilion!

City goals / challenges

Tampere is growing rapidly and we need to make sure that the quality of the services rises, the growth is done in a sustainable way and the big development projects like the tramway or the multipurpose arena we are building in the middle of the city are smartly connected to the city services and serve as a platform for testing and developing future services.

Data, AI and analytics are key players in this combo. We need to make sure the companies can truly utilize open data and open APIs that the city provides and we also need to figure out the business models and the rules for data usage between private and public sectors.

If you have answers, experience or even opinions about these challenges, we are listening.
